An invitation is bouncing around CQ-Roll Call for a a book party for CQ’s Seth Stern (a Harvard Law grad) organized by Roll Call‘s Emily Heil. We hear the event is no doubt expected to attract a ton of journalists around town.

The invitation:

“Join neighbors, book lovers, and history buffs to hear our esteemed colleague, CQ reporter Seth Stern talk about his acclaimed new book, Justice Brennan: A Liberal Champion, a revealing insider look at William Brennan‘s career.

Also, there will be cheese and crackers! The event is free and open to all, so please forward on to friends.

Seth’s book, co-written with Stephen Wermiel, has been getting lots of buzz, in addition to some impressive reviews. The New York Times just did a fascinating piece on the back story: (Read it here.)

This is the first in what I hope will be a great series of author talks that I’m helping to organize at the library. I really hope you can make it!”

Vince Morris, Democratic spokesman for the House Rules Committee, put in a plug on Facebook, saying, “This should be a great evening. Seth has a very interesting take on the supreme court. Plus the Friends of the NE Library is giving away two copies of his book.”
