ABC Strong As ‘Face’ Continues Slide
The overnights from Sunday morning show that “Face the Nation” is continuing its slide, falling behind ABC’s “This Week” nationally for a fourth straight week (excluding Memorial Day weekend, which screwed up everyone).
While “Meet the Press” still took a strong first (as much as Arianna hates it) with a 3.1/9, “This Week” finished second with 2.3/6 to ‘Face”s 2.1/6, outperforming Bob Schieffer in 11 of the top 15 markets. Nationally, Fox finished last with a 1.3/3.
Locally in D.C. both “Fox News Sunday” and “This Week” saw dismal ratings, with George Stephanopoulos narrowly edging Chris Wallace 0.8/2 to 0.7/2.
> Anyone have updates or further thoughts on the Sunday Show hypotheses we posited a few weeks back?
> More humiliation for CBS: “Fox News Sunday” beat “Face the Nation” in four of the top 15 markets and tied in two more–meaning that in nearly half the nation’s top markets, FNS has closed the gap with “Face.” How long will it take a prove a trend to CBS? How long will they stand by?
