At Least Someone’s Getting Hired At U.S. News

    U.S.News & World Report today announced the appointment of Adam Voiland as a reporter for the Health section of the magazine and website, USNews.com. Voiland started May 14, and reports to Anne McGrath, deputy assistant managing editor, and Tim Smart, managing editor.

    Voiland had been an intern in the health section for six months covering issues such as food safety, diabetes and heart health, and contributing to USNews.com’s Health Watch page. Prior to starting his U.S. News internship last November, Voiland worked as a science writer for the Mote Marine Biological Laboratory in Sarasota, Fla. in Summer 2005, as a summer intern for Popular Science in 2004 in New York, and as a magazine intern at the Chicago Field Museum in Summer 2003. In addition, he wrote guidebooks for the National Park Service as a freelancer from 2002 to 2004.
