Battaglio Profiles Wallace

FOX News Sunday celebrates its 11th anniversary next week and Steve Battaglio’s “The Biz” column in TV Guide sits down with host Chris Wallace.

This race is beyond my wildest dreams. A year ago we didn’t think of Barack Obama, but we were thinking, “What if Hillary Clinton had a real opponent?” We knew John McCain was going to run, but what if Rudolph Giuliani got in? And they’ve all gotten in. Now there’s talk about Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich or Al Gore. As a host of a Sunday-morning talk show, the more the merrier.

The Virginian Pilot also features Wallace.

It’s the flashiest of the Sunday morning news and information shows, with Wallace at times appearing on a split screen with his guests. Wallace’s bulldog style of interviewing should make his father, Mike Wallace, proud. At times, he’ll plunge into an interview by saying, “Let’s look at the record.” Most recently he grilled Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, a supporter of the Bush administration’s policies in Iraq, asking, “Where’s the progress?”
