What’s the name of your cell phone ring? The Razr v3c Theme (but I have the phone on vibrate nearly all the time)

What time did you get up this morning? 5 a.m.

When did you last cry and why? When I saw “King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters,” a documentary about a former Boeing engineer who tries to win the world championship in Donkey Kong. I won’t spoil the ending, but I found it quite moving.

How many emails do you receive a day, roughly? 300

What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? Robert Redford. I got into journalism because All the Presidents Men made it look like you could change the world.

When’s the last time you volunteered? Where? A month ago, as assistant coach on my son’s baseball team.

Who is your favorite active journalist? Blaine Harden

What did you have for breakfast? An Egg Beaters cheese omelette

What one toiletry item could you not live without? Contact lens solution

If you could have one superpower, which one would it be? The ability to fly

Red or white wine? Red

PG-13 or R? PG-13. I have kids

Lincoln, Jefferson or Washington Memorial? Lincoln. For reasons I don’t recall, I went there with my buddies about 1 a.m. the morning before I was married.

Leg or breast (chicken, of course) Breast

Friday night or Saturday night? Friday. Saturday is too close to Monday.

“Wedding Crashers” or “Old School” Old School.

The Palm or Cafe Milano? The Palm, although I’ll never go enough to get my face on the wall.

Yankees or Red Sox? Red Sox. (That’s also the name of the team I help coach)

Jenna or Barbara? Jenna.

McSteamy or McDreamy? Never seen the show. Or is that a new dessert item at McDonalds?

Leno or Letterman? Letterman. Leno seems like my dad’s era.

Stewart or Colbert? Colbert. I thought his performance at the White House Correspondents dinner was brilliant.

Boxers or briefs? Both. I wrote a book a few years ago about a plane crash investigation (“The Mystery of Flight 427″ – makes a great Christmas gift!) and it taught me the value of redundancy.
