Bill Triplett: The FishbowlDC Interview

biulltux.JPGSay hello to Variety Magazine’s D.C. reporter Bill Triplett.

How many suits do you own? Four, if you count the two I can no longer wear but am deluded enough to think i’ll be able to again one day.

What word do you routinely misspell? You don’t know how embarrassed I was to learn that there’s nobody named Miss
Cegenation.

Did you see Brokeback Mountain? Yes. Unfortunately.

Did you see The Da Vinci Code? Nope.

What’s the name of your cell phone ring? “Annoying, loud.”

What time did you get up this morning? Middle of the night, around 7:15 (doctor’s appointment)

When did you last cry and why? Last month; death.

Which of the seven deadly sins are you? Let’s see, today’s Wednesday? Sloth? Or maybe greed. Lemme get back on that.

Beach, city or country? Depends on the weather.

Would you say you’re cute? Pretty? Hot? Beautiful? Somewhere between Fabio and “doesn’t frighten children (too often).”

What’s your opinion of New York City? The only place I love to arrive and love to leave.

What’s your favorite letter? Y — it’s so versatile.

What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? Too many to list. And they’re still influencing!

Have you ever downloaded a podcast? If so, which one? Not yet, but I know it’s coming…

Who’s your all-time favorite American Idol candidate? The loser who claimed Paula Adbul coached and diddled him. Proof again that in this country, shame is a liability.

When’s the last time you volunteered? Where? Oh, you would have to ask that…. I think I was in high school, helping clean up after dinosaurs.

Who is your favorite active journalist? Bob Woodward or Mary Hart, depending on the weather.

What did you have for breakfast? A podcast. No, no…um… this is so confusing!!

What’s your favorite item of clothing? Anything stylish and expensive and paid for by someone else.
