Bloomberg Loses Zacharia to Washington Post

The Washington Post today announces a new Jerusalem Bureau Chief: Janine Zacharia. Zacharia has been the diplomatic correspondent at Bloomberg News.
She speaks fluent Hebrew and some Arabic. For the last decade, she has been a Washington-based correspondent for the Jerusalem Post, The New Republic and Bloomberg with a break for a one-year Knight fellowship at Stanford.
The release highlights her humor as “wry” and says she is a well-liked colleague.
Zacharia starts her new post on Jan. 4 and will assume the bureau chief job in march when she “takes the baton” from Howard Schneider. Her primary responsibilities: Israel, the West Bank and Gaza.
