Bloomberg Poaches Another from CQ-Roll Call

Earlier today we reported that Roll Call‘s Dan Parks was leaving the newsgroup for a job with Bloomberg – now we’ve learned that he’s not alone.  After nearly 11 years with CQ, Kimberly Hallock is departing for an online editor role with Bloomberg News. John Dineen announced Hallock’s exit late Friday evening saying,   “Kimberly’s dedication to excellence and tireless work ethic will be missed by all of her colleagues.”

Over the course of her time with CQ, Hallock served as  CQ.com deputy editor, CQ.com deputy managing editor and most recently, managing editor for Legislative Information.  Memo announcing her new gig after the jump.

Folks -

I regret to announce that Kimberly Hallock is leaving CQ after almost 11 years to join Bloomberg as an online editor.

Kimberly started at CQ in February 2000 as a part-time editorial assistant for House Action Reports. What followed was a remarkable decade-long CQ career. Kimberly was promoted to HAR production editor in 2001, to assistant Members editor in 2004, to CQ.com deputy editor in 2005, to CQ.com deputy managing editor in 2007, and to managing editor for Legislative Information last year. In addition to all this, she also served as managing editor of Politics in America for the 2006, 2008 and 2010 books.

That steady rise only hints at Kimberly’s value to this organization. As her skills and reputation grew over the years, Kimberly became known throughout the company as an expert on CQ.com itself and its operations. “Ask Kimberly” became the most reliable answer to many of the questions that attend the operations of a site as complex as CQ.com.

Kimberly’s dedication to excellence and tireless work ethic will be missed by all of her colleagues. Please join me in wishing Kimberly well as she moves on to her next adventure.
