Bloomberg Scribe to Relocate to Hong Kong
Later this week Bloomberg‘s Sophia Yan heads to Hong Kong.
She will stay with Bloomberg and join the company’s Asia First Word team, real time news covering equities. She will focus on energy, and will
continue contributing to ‘The Grid,’ the BusinessWeek sustainability blog.
She won’t be taking a breather. “This time next week, I will be setting up my Pez collection on my desk over there and my set of crazy pens will have a new home,” she tells FishbowlDC. “Am certainly sad to leave the great people here in Bloomberg’s Washington bureau, and a wonderful group of friends, but it’s time for a new adventure!”
Sophia has never been to Hong Kong, let alone lived there. “Moving sight unseen!” she tells us. She has visited mainland China and Taiwan, and has lived in Washington for a little over three years. “Definitely excited, looking forward to it all,” she says. “Seeking tips on good runs/hikes/yoga studios/places to eat. I do know Mandarin, so that helps some!”
We wish Sophia the best of luck and fully expect updates on her new life. (Send her tips on Hong Kong living to @sophia_yan.)
