"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Like one of those guys who has a compulsion to take his thing out and show it on the street." - James Jones

Continuing its series of journo parodies, FamousDC thinks they've got my book proposal nailed down:

That was Eleanor Clift discussing her new book, "Two Weeks of Life," with CNN's Rachel Rosen yesterday at a book salon held by PR firm Dezenhall Resources.
Clift's book is a personal narrative examining the death of her husband Tom Brazaitis and Terry Schiavo, who died within days of Clift's husband and became a national news story because of Congress' involvement. Brazaitis was a Washington columnist for the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Stephen Hess' new book, "What Do We Do Now? A Workbook for the President-Elect" (you mean you haven't read about it recently?), features an interesting -- and funny -- section entitled "Why Leakers Leak," which will obviously be of interest to FishbowlDC readers.

From the NY Observer:
Anne Kornblut, who covered the presidential election for The Washington Post and will soon be reporting for the paper on the Obama White House, will write a book called Rejection: Why America Isn't Ready for A Woman President for the Crown imprint of Random House.
The book was acquired for a sum in the mid-six figures by editor Sean Desmond in a deal that was brokered by the Endeavor Talent Agency's Richard Abate.
