Brian Fung to National Journal

Atlantic Associate Editor Brian Fung soon heads his sister site, National Journal, to cover technology.

He starts his new beat next month.

Fung reported the news on Twitter, which happens to be a precarious playground for the young journalist. FishbowlDC recalls an incident in September of last year amid coverage of V.P. Joe Biden‘s Democratic Convention speech. Fung said he stepped away from his computer and a friend began writing things on his Twitter account such as “JAMESON SHOTS HAPPENING #literally #imsodrunkicanttweet.” No harm. No foul. Fung deleted the tweet and denied writing it. As a matter of fact, the friend, Hayley Moller, later wrote us a lengthy letter saying she was the culprit. “I guess I got my wish of being featured,” she wrote. “Although not credited.”

Fung graduated from Middlebury in 2010 with a degree in political science.
