By the Way, NPR’s New Sen. Editor Worked at ABC

The following internal memo from Teshima Walker, supervising senior producer of NPR’s “Tell Me More”, with Michel Martin announces a new “Supervising Senior Editor” for the program. The memo mentions ABC five times.

“For several months, Tell Me More searched for an experienced manager with sharp news judgment and a reputation for creating and executing on-air story ideas. We’ve found that person and I’m delighted to announce that Portia Robertson Migas will be the new Supervising Senior Editor of Tell Me More. Portia worked for ABC News for 24 years where she had a proven track record of managing numerous special projects. Her journalism career at ABC included work at ABC Radio, World News Tonight, 20/20 and ABC News NOW. Plus, Portia embraces all aspects of our growing media landscape – she has supervised editorial coverage of stories for broadcast and digital media. During Portia’s time at ABC Newsmagazines, she was part of the Washington team that contributed to the network’s duPont-Columbia and Peabody Award-winning coverage of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Portia is a welcome addition to the Tell Me More team and says she is “thrilled to be joining such a talented group of journalists.” We’ll invite all staff to meet and greet Portia when she gets settled in September.
