Canceled: Bloggity Blog Blog

UPDATE: Just forget this whole post. The panel’s been canceled.

While we mostly cover D.C. news, there’s a healthy readership out of New York, and so this post’s for you Big Applers:

MediaBistro.com, our corporate parent, is hosting a panel tonight on “Random Acts of Journalism: How to Be a Better Reporter via Blog,” a new twist on the rapidly proliferating blog panel virus.

Elizabeth Spiers, MediaBistro.com’s editor-in-chief and Fishbowl’s benevolent boss, who was a founding editor of Gawker.com, will be joined by Ron Mwangaguhunga, a blogger from Razor magazine; Peter Rojas, the editor of Engadget.com and former editor at Red Herring and Cargo; Ben Smith, a blogger at The New York Observer’s Politicker blog; and Lockhart “Man of” Steele, the managing editor of Gawker Media.

The panel, which will be at the The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, runs from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight, followed (like all media events) by an hour of drinking.

If you’re in New York, check it out. If you’re not, go home and watch “Lost.”
