Tuesday night, Capitol File hosted a cocktail party to welcome two new-ish additions to the glossy, Editor-in-Chief Elizabeth Thorp and Publisher Suzy Jacobs. The evening took place at Eno, the also new-ish wine bar next to the Four Seasons in Georgetown. Fun people. Delicious food and drink. Great night.
Here’s how it went down.
605 - Walk into Eno. Immediately offered champagne. Why not?
6:10 - Assess the situation. This place is awesome. How have I not heard of it? Beautiful exposed brick. A chandelier made out of a wine barrel. Contemporary yet comfortable furniture. What’s not to love?
618 - Staff offers to refill my champers. I’m 3 sips in and good for now.
6:22 - Make my way upstairs, to no joke, the most delicious charcuterie spread I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
6:31 - Introduced to the Four Seasons’ Director of PR, Liliana Baldassari. Probably a good person to know.
7:17 - Welcome my third glass of champers over conversation with Associate Publisher Meredith Merrill. Congratulate her on a successful event. I’d say there’s a good 75 people who have walked through the doors to welcome Thorp and Jacobs.
7:46 - Finally meet Suzy after completely forgetting that this was a party to welcome her and Elizabeth.
8:01 - Depart for the Internet Association Gala After Party at Carnegie Library. Post TK.
In attendance: Capitol File’s Elizabeth Thorp, Suzy Jacobs, Laura Mullen, and Amy Moueller; Almus Thorp; CNN’s Edie Emery; Danielle Tergis; Revamp’s Daniel Swartz; Todd Flournoy; Alfredo Flores; the Four Seasons’ Liliana Baldassari; Dannia Hakki; and Maha Hakki.
