WaPo’s Pamela Kirkland Explores Past Criticisms of Obama’s ‘Katrina Moments’

The border has been a strong topic of political conversation in recent weeks and critics have been referring to it as “Obama’s Katrina” both on and off television. Well, it’s not the first time an Obama response has been compared to Katrina and likely won’t be the last.

Josh Earnest Sits Down with CNN’s Brian Stelter for First Sunday Show Appearance

Screen Shot 2014-07-14 at 13.02.51On Sunday’s “Reliable Sources,” CNN host Brian Stelter sat down in the White House briefing room with White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest to discuss a variety of issues including the Administration’s ‘transparency’ and how he’s settling into his new role in his first Sunday Show appearance.

On the topic of transparency, Earnest said, “If there’s ever a day when the White House press corps sits back and says, ‘You know, we’re getting all the information that we need from the White House Press Office,’ then everybody in the White House press corps would not be doing their jobs, right?”

Nine months ago was the government shutdown. Sibley Memorial Hospital is now reporting live births are up about three per day. And NBC’s Brian Williams nailed it.

“How long until someone on television points out that during the shutdown the folks in Washington are apparently doing at home what Washington has been accused of doing to the American people,” Williams said. “We’re guessing someone will say that on television before long.”
