As pre-White House Correspondents’ Dinner cocktail parties at the Washington Hilton came to a close Saturday, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes (a.k.a. Hazy) was spotted mingling in National Review‘s private room with other stragglers, including The Daily Caller‘s Senior Online Editor Vince Coglianese.

After introducing himself to Hayes, Coglianese asked if the two could pose for a picture together. “You’re not going to deface it or anything, are you?” asked Hayes, half joking. Coglianese assured him he would not and the photo was shot.

“We just spoke for a second,” Coglianese told FishbowlDC. “I asked him to take a picture with me so I could send it to [Daily Caller TV reporter] Jeff Poor. He obliged and asked that I extend to Poor this message: “Auburn sucks.”

Poor, an Auburn University graduate, has written critically of Hayes in the past.

After The Atlantic‘s Women of Washington brunch Saturday featuring MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), Newsweek‘s Eleanor Clift was spotted outside the Ritz Carlton waiting on valet to retrieve her car.

After chatting a few minutes with a chipper fan who recognized her, a blue Prius pulled up that belonged to Clift. “Of course she drives a Prius,” I said. “She’s socially responsible!” remarked her fan.

Bombing? What bombing? There are people to see, jackets to buy. MSNBC “Hardball” host Chris Matthews was spotted on Newbury Street in Boston over the weekend. They were seen with what looked to be their son at the Barbour store. The guy who looked to be their son was trying on jackets. Our spy remarked, “Not surprisingly, the Matthews clan looked right at home at the preppiest store in America’s preppiest city.”

The store sells “lifestyle” and “heritage” clothing styles for men and women and is located in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. Men’s jackets run anywhere from $399 to $449.  The Matthewses have two sons, Thomas and Michael.

This is too much!

In Wednesday’s Politico Playbook, Mike Allen writes about the MSNBC Joe Scarborough‘s surprise 50th birthday party. Allen, a “Morning Joe” regular, posted a variety of pictures, including one of NBC’s David Gregory in the moonlight, he wrote about “Le Menu” — which included mini burgers and mini pastrami bites — and then he concluded with a big mass of sightings, which included none other than himself.

Famed California attorney and controversy seeker Gloria Allred made an unexpected appearance outside the Supreme Court in Washington on Monday.

Hearings on the Defense of Marriage Act and the constitutionality of California’s same-sex marriage ban are taking place this week.

Allred is not arguing either case in the court, but she was involved in challenging California’s Proposition 8 in 2008. She was spotted just after noon hustling down the sidewalk. No one stopped her to chat.

D.C. had a big college basketball weekend. While Georgetown destroyed Syracuse, George Washington University faced a big game, themselves with their final home game against the Dayton Flyers. After the game went into overtime, GW scored with a thunderous dunk, with less than 2 seconds remaining, that won the game.

As the happy crowd streamed out of the arena, our spy snapped a pic of former WTOP political commentator, Mark Plotkin. You may remember that Plotkin was canned from the station for his repeated angry outbursts.

Upon first viewing, we weren’t sure if it was actually Plotkin, since the subject in the photo seems to have less hair. Then again, the history of Plotkin’s rage issues may explain the balding.

Tamra Barney, cast member of “The Real Housewives of OC,” flew into D.C. last week to promote Cuca Fresca rum. We’re not avid watchers, but we’ve come to understand her reputation among viewers is that she’s a crazy you-know-what.

That wasn’t the case Friday at 1 West liquor store in Dupont Circle, where she signed bottles for fans.

She was nice enough, even though she was placed in a poorly-lit basement to pose for pictures with women who take her show too seriously (“Are you two still fighting?!” one enthusiastic fan, eyes ablaze, asked Barney). Sighting: Morning man and co-host of  105.9 FM/630AM WMAL’s “Mornings on the Mall,” Brian Wilson. He was seen eating breakfast this morning at a Germantown, Md. location of Bob Evans. Our spy didn’t catch his order, but reported that he spent a good chunk of time tapping away at his iPhone with the sound ON. Someone should tell Wilson to keep that phone on vibrate in the middle of a restaurant. The loud noises didn’t deter someone from snapping this photo of him reading on his phone.

Our spy also remarked that Wilson was, “shockingly tall.” It appears that he is wearing a “Sun Records” baseball cap, which earns him high marks in our book.

Spotted on Metro’s green line in the direction of Greenbelt Saturday night: Erin McPike, formerly of RealClearPolitics, now with CNN.

Though covered in a bubbly jacket, McPike looked dressed to impress at 10:15 p.m. She exited at the U St. stop, a night scene with lots of bars, restaurants and live bands.

While on the train, McPike tapped away on her phone. All the while, the woman to McPike’s right repeatedly asked a baby in a stroller whether he had “passed gas.” The baby, between 1 and 2 years old, nodded his head “yes” each time.

He’s still Willie from the block. NBC Today‘s Willie Geist has settled into his new cushy gig as co-host of the show’s 9 a.m. but the promotion apparently hasn’t gone to his head.

Many hosts and anchors in the network TV business opt for a car service to and from work. We’re told, however, Geist was spotted this morning at 10:30 a.m. riding the 1 train in New York City somewhere by 50th St. He was seen toting an iPhone and an unidentified book.

Geist on the dirty subway system. Just like a regular Joe.

We’re happy to see that Geist hasn’t forgotten the little people.
