Yahoo! News’ intrepid reporter, Chris Moody might finally be ready to settle down. Twitter broke the news Monday afternoon that he had asked his girlfriend to marry him. Several people tweeted congratulatory notes to Moody without him making an official announcement. Fellow Yahoo-er Olivier Knox prodded Moody to spread the news.

Moody made it official by tweeting:

I bought an engagement ring in Ohio, carried it on campaign planes through 7 states and proposed to my girlfriend in Florida.

We asked Moody if he was nervous carrying a ring through all those states… He told FishbowlDC, “I carried the engagement ring on President Obama and Paul Ryan’s campaign planes all week, so it spent a lot of time under Secret Service protection.”

By the way, Moody’s now-fiance, Cristina, said yes.
