Clark Wishes Hotline A Happy 20th
National Journal Group President Suzanne Clark sent out the following internal email last week, obtained by FishbowlDC:
Colleagues, I hope you’ll join me in commemorating a special anniversary in the National Journal Group. Today, The Hotline celebrates 20 years as the most informative and entertaining read in town on politics. Thanks to the hard work of our talented writers and editors, The Hotline continues to be the daily news service no politico can go a day without. Starting in 1987, The Hotline was ahead of its time as one of the first news services to deliver updates in a daily fax to readers. Today, The Hotline has fully migrated to mobile devices and the web where it continues to innovate. While technology has changed, its position as the authoritative source for political information is as strong as ever. This is due wholly to the contributions of our gifted colleagues, who demonstrate their mastery of campaign politics with each edition. Our editorial success could not be enjoyed without the hard work and dedication of our talented sales team in the Office of the Publisher as well. Through their efforts, we have been able to expand the readership of The Hotline each year, and hope to broaden its reach for years to come. It’s a privilege to work among colleagues whose talents produce a publication read with fanatical devotion each day. I look forward to another 20 years of growth and thank you for your continued great work.
One reader wonders: “Why no party?”
Admittedly, it does seem odd that Atlantic Media hasn’t done more to celebrate such a big anniversary for, what has long been considered, its crown jewel.
