NBC Washington /WRC Vice President of News Michael Goldrick announced today that former CNN Pentagon correspondent Chris Lawrence will become a weekend anchor for Channel 4′s evening news. Lawrence will be anchoring the weekend versions of News4 at 6 and News4 at 11, and will also contribute to other newscasts during the week. Lawrence has worked at CNN for the last 10 years. Prior to that, he covered local news at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, WTVH-TV in Syracuse and WDBB-TV in Tuscaloosa. He has spent time as an anchor, a general assignment reporter and a consumer/investigative reporter. Lawrence also served as a correspondent for CBS Newspath where he covered national and international news for local CBS stations around the country.
His first day will be January 20th. Congrats on the new job Chris!
