CNN’s ‘The Situation Room’ from Cape Town

CNN’s “The Situation Room” is scheduled to air a segment from Cape Town, South Africa this afternoon between Wolf Blitzer and former President Clinton.

The event was a “FORTUNE/TIME/CNN Global Forum” Sunday in Cape Town, where President Bill Clinton addressed over 300 delegates and followed it with a Q&A with Blitzer. Topics he addressed: why the US should be the home of the next World Cup, Obama’s presidency and whether he’ll cry at his daughter, Chelsea’s, upcoming wedding.

OBAMA: I think he’s done a better job than he’s given credit for. I feel very strongly about this. And I think that in so far as he is responsible for part of this by the way is not avoidable. Until people feel good about their own lives, they’re not going to feel good about their president. And there’s nothing you can do about that … He is a brilliant, articulate and, I think, an exceedingly empathetic person.

ON WHETHER HE’LL CRY AT CHELSEA’S WEDDING: I don’t know but I’ll tell you this I am profoundly grateful, not only for her life, but I like my son in law to be and I admire him very much. He is a remarkable human being.I am going to try not to cry because this isn’t about me, it’s about her. And if I am crying then it becomes partly about me and I don’t even want to be mentioned in the story except that I didn’t stumble walking down the aisle. So I am going to try but I may not be able to do it.
