Congrats, Chad!

From the release:

Capitol News Connection’s Chief Correspondent Chad Pergram has won a prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow Award for his news-feature on Tom DeLay’s last speech in the House of Representatives. The piece, ‘Exit Stage Right’, was broadcast June 9, 2006 by CNC subscriber station KUHF, Houston Public Radio.

The first place showing in the “Hard News Feature” category for the Southern region qualifies Pergram’s story for the national Murrow Awards, to be announced in October. Last year, CNC’s Pergram won the Joan S. Barone Award for Excellence in National Affairs/Public Policy Journalism for his exclusive reporting from Capitol Hill localized for public radio stations. Pergram was the first radio or public broadcasting reporter to win in 12 years.
