CQ Explains Why You’re Not Invited

After our item this morning on tomorrow’s CQPolitics party, we received a lot of tips from (presumably) CQ employees wondering why they weren’t invited.

In an internal email sent to CQ staffers, CQ editor Michael Riley explains:

    From: Mike Riley
    Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2007 3:50 PM
    To: News Room
    Cc: Greg Hamilton; Bruce Drake
    Subject: Clarification

The Thursday night CQ Politics party, which got such prominent play today on FishbowlDC, is a gathering aimed at schmoozing potential advertisers and not journalists. I wanted to make sure that point was clear, so that nobody in the newsroom should feel slighted.
