Well. Well. Well. On the day that CQ Roll Call got rid of their VP of Marketing, Bill Kiniry, they announce a new VP of Marketing! What primo timing. It’s Val Voci, who has been working in “integrated marketing” for the publication, which works out perfectly for the sake of the memo because they announce a new “centralized marketing department.” Get it? Integrated? Managing Director Keith White even praises Kiniry, whom he let go today, and wishes him well at WaPo.
Cue up “We are family.”
See the memo…
From: Keith White
We have decided to bring together our marketing efforts, which have been split across advertising and circulation, into one department to be headed by Val Voci.
In the past, CQ Roll Call and CQ have had one, centralized marketing department — this restores the previous structure, which allows for a greater focus on growth across our products as we move aggressively to meet our client’s needs across print, online and mobile.
Val Voci will become Vice President of Marketing, continuing to report to Peter Anthony. Val’s experience includes leading integrated marketing at CQ Roll Call, and from her previous stints at well known brands such as the Washington Post.
I would also like to note that Bill Kiniry is leaving CQ Roll Call to take a new position at the Washington Post. As many of you know, Bill joined Roll Call four and half years ago, and made significant contributions in marketing advertising before taking on the development of the CQ Roll Call branding.
Please join me in congratulating Val on her promotion and wishing Bill well in his new position with the Washington Post.
