On the publication date of Daniel Halper‘s Clinton, Inc., the author penned a piece for POLITICO Magazine on what’s happened and can be expected for he and others who white “a tough book on the Clinton family.” Ten days prior, Halper’s latest was leaked to the press, as a combined 317-page PDF distributed to more than 100 reporters by a mysterious “Robert Josef Wright.”
“Some prominent media personalities with experience covering the Clintons in the 1990s told me that their team would have no problem with, say, copying every page of someone’s manuscript, sending it out to reporters ahead of publication, and then depicting it as a right-wing smear job. Funny thing, that exact thing happened with my book, as POLITICO noted,” Halper writes in the piece.
From blacklisting media who give airtime to Clinton enemies to efforts to turn Halper into a “kook or right-wing hit man,” The Weekly Standard’s online editor outlines four tactics used by the ‘Clinton PR machine’ against anyone who’s agenda doesn’t coincide with that of the Clintons.
