Daniel Lippman: the “Editor” Who Won’t Make You Feel Stupid

pic.php.jpegOne of FishbowlDC’s favorite media whisperers, Daniel Lippman, was interviewed on NPR on New Year’s Day. It’s only fitting that Lippman started out his new year on air. For years, he has been an unofficial editor-at-large for Washington media despite being a 19-year-old George Washington University student.

FishbowlDC has previously reported on Lippman as has Politico. NPR interviewed AP Washington Bureau Chief Ron Fournier on Lippman. Fournier became a fan after being “edited” by Lippman on numerous occasions via e-mail, be it over a typo or factual error. Fournier stresses how polite Lippman is when he sends mistake missives.

Lippman says he only reads stories that interest him. His ideal publication to work for someday: “The New York Times.”

Lippman told NPR that he considers himself a defender and friend to the media. Listen to the interview here.
