Journo Couple Gave Few Hints They’d Elope

images-3WaPo recently sent out a rather personal internal memo revealing that “The Reliable Source” writer Amy Argetsinger is not only leaving the gossip beat but she’s pregnant and engaged to former Bloomberg reporter and JDA VP of Public Affairs Bill McQuillen.

This week the couple made it official.

On Wednesday they both simultaneously took to their respective Facebook pages (because it’s the easiest place to make a big announcement, right?) to announce that they’d tied the knot. He said: “Bill McQuillen is married to Amy Argetsinger. And she said: “Amy Argetsinger is married to Bill McQuillen.”

Short and sweet. No details. And for some, no warning.

In fact, the news struck some as so strange that they thought it might be a prank?

The Weinerization of Booker Continues…

092713-lyndsie-lee-launch-wm-v3-3

Oh, man.

No doubt U.S. Senate candidate Cory Booker is wishing he never heard the name “Lynsie Lee.”

This afternoon TMZ has a doozy of a follow-up to their Thursday interview with Lee. It’s footage of her latest show at the vegan strip club in Portland, Ore. The attention she’s gained through minor and tame communicating with Booker on Twitter has gotten her a big goose egg as far as her career is concerned. But the club has added an $8 special. A “Booker Burger with a side of Lynsie Lee” which is apparently doing very well. It comes with fries and extra mayo.

Watch here.

AnonymASSES Go Wild

cartoondonkeyAs some figured out by my outgoing email earlier in the week, I did something unheard of in some Washington circles — I took a vacation. While I was away from the Fishbowl, some AnonymASSES had some funny notes for me. Despite my outgoing message indicating I’d be off email, my phone, away from pens, etc… for several days, some still feared something sinister had happened to me. I had to assure some distinctly non-AnonymASSES that no, I was really just on vacation. One journo texted, “Are you really on vacation away from your phone?” Another sweetly inquired, “Are you ok? I was worried sick when I didn’t hear back and Peter couldn’t find you. Just hope you’re ok.” (Special note to Peter Ogburn: What in the hell? You knew at least vaguely where I was.) And still another: “Betsy you okay? Texted, no word from you. Hoping all is well.”

And now, here’s what a sampling of AnonymASSES had on their minds. Read more

A Mouse Still in WJLA’s House

Unknown-2Apparently the managerial team over at WJLA HQ in Rosslyn, Va. haven’t found a good exterminator. Or maybe they’re just too busy to find one at all?

The mouse is back in the newsroom.

Back in July shrieks could be heard coming out of WJLA’s workspace. This morning some employees tried to chase “the thing” around their desks. The upside: Who doesn’t want rodents for coworkers?

Alex Wagner and Sam Kass to Marry?

Unknown

Unknown-1BuzzFeed‘s Dorsey Shaw has the picture proof that MSNBC host Alex Wagner is sporting an engagement ring. It’s no secret, at least in Washington, that she has been dating White House Chef Sam Kass for the past year.

See the buzz, which wouldn’t be BuzzFeed without a special graphic with flying hearts.

Wagner has, so far, not officially confirmed the news.

The Weinerization of Booker’s Campaign: Stripper Friend Prefers ‘Real Meat’

Unknown-3That she works for a vegan strip club in Portland, Ore. is besides the point.

An interview with TMZ reveals that U.S. Senate hopeful Cory Booker’s online stripper pal, Lynsie Lee, prefers real meat to, say, soy puffs or Nayonaise.

Has Booker, who exchanged private texts with Lee, never heard of Anthony Weiner?

As interviews go, it was pretty in-depth and friendly. TMZ founder… Read more
