DC Journos Gather For Discussion; Almost Certainly No Yelling Involved, Maybe

Reasonable PersonAre you a reasonable person? Do you prefer level-headed and subdued discussions about things like “politics” and “news” and “America’s place in the world”? In other words, are you BOOOOOOORRRRIIIIING/a responsible member of society? If so, then you will love this event. Virtually no yelling guaranteed! It doesn’t get much more reasonable than this:

EVENT:
The News Literacy Project and George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs will present a discussion with prominent members of the media on America’s changing role in the world and how the press covers it.

WHO:
Panelists:

Thomas L. Friedman, foreign affairs columnist, The New York Times
Andrea Mitchell, chief foreign affairs correspondent, NBC News; host, MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports”
Michael Gerson, columnist, the Washington Post

Moderator:
Gwen Ifill, co-anchor, “PBS NewsHour”; moderator, “Washington Week”

Okay sure, there is a chance that Friedman will yell about something in his charmingly avuncular way -”The world is flat, I tells ya!”, “Someone get me a ginger ale!” -that sort of thing. Aaaaand, it’s possible that Gerson might say something incendiary/warmongery. And you’re right,  it’s likely that Friedman will be unable to resist taking whatever bait Gerson puts out there, but Mitchell and Ifill will probably keep a lid on things…

Okay, there might be yelling.

Show starts at 7:30 tonight at the Lisner Auditorium at GW, 30 21st St., NW, Washington, D.C.
