Does the Wash Times Hate America?

An amusing sidenote to this week’s presidential press conference was when the President accused an unnamed newspaper of comprimising details of how the NSA was tracking Osama bin Laden. Well, it turns out that “newspaper” was the Washington Times in 1998. And today the newspaper is hitting back.

“The story in The Washington Times was not based on a leak, and it did not say the U.S. was monitoring the phone. Reports of bin Laden’s using a satellite phone had been in the press for years,” the paper says today.

Then it proceeds to list the other media outlets that hate America/Freedom by publishing that bin Laden used a sat phone: Time, CNN, CBS News, and USA Today.

Frankly, we’ve always had our doubts about just how “American” that USA Today thing was. Considering how many pie charts they run there, when was the last time you saw them like apple pie?

> A too cute reader offers proof that USAT likes pie.
