Double Your Trouble With Two Keith Whites

What are the chances?

Those working at the offices of CQ Roll Call may want to bone up on their creative nicknaming skills, especially with the recent hire of Keith White as Managing Editor of daily news. This is the second Keith White at the publication. The first is Managing Director Keith White.

The new Keith White comes to CQ Roll Call from The Hill, where he was responsible for the Monday edition.

Whiles sources tell us they don’t really look alike, they are both white guys.

See the memo…

To the news staff:

I am pleased to announce that our new managing editor for daily news will be Keith P. White. For obvious reasons, I am using, will continue to use, and may even emphasize his middle initial.

Keith comes to us from The Hill, where he has been associate editor, responsible for the newspaper’s Monday edition. Before that he was an editor at NJ’s Congress Daily for 14 years, first as senior managing editor, then as executive editor and most recently as editor. Previously in his career, Keith was a Washington correspondent and Columbus, Ohio bureau chief for Gannett News Service.

Keith is a veteran editor who is known as an expert on Congress and legislative procedure. In this job he will take ownership of CQ’s morning report, working with Randy Wynn and the domain editors to ensure the comprehensiveness and clarity of our overnight stories. He’ll report to Randy.

He holds a BA in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and an MA, also in journalism, from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Please join me in welcoming him on his first day, May 7. In the meantime, I will work with the IT department to make sure his e-mail address does NOT conform to CQ Roll Call conventions.
