Fame & Fortune For Woodward et al.

woodwardcover.jpgAt least there are still some people in the world who think that Bob Woodward is a real journalist–a professional journalist no less, even a journalist worthy of fame and fortune.

Tonight the Washington D.C. Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will induct Woodward, Baltimore Sun Supreme Court reporter Lyle Denniston, and CNN’s Candy Crowley into its Hall of Fame.

The black-tie optional soiree at the National Press Club will also honor Mark Goodman, executive director of the Student Press Law Center, with a Distinguished Service Award, and see the chapter’s new officers installed.

As for the Woodward and fortune part, the details of his book on Deep Throat are out. The 256-page “The Secret Man: The Story of Watergate’s Deep Throat” will be on sale July 6, and offers on the cover tribute to Carl Bernstein.

Right now, it’s sitting at #470 on Amazon.com‘s bestseller list.
