FamousDC Hits Rangel G-mail Jackpot

Want to get inside the mind of Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.)?

FamousDC can’t get you that far, really, but they can get you inside what is a very phony G-mail inbox, where people like Politico‘s Mike Allen, the DCCC Press Shop, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Williams & Sonoma all have messages waiting for him.

Even former Rep. Jim Traficant (I-Ohio), who spent time in prison for taking bribes, had a message on Rangel’s G-Chat: “Glad I’m not Rangel.” And former Veep Al Gore? “If you need to get away, avoid Portland,” he wrote. Musician Pat Benetar writes in, “Take your best shot!” GoCarribbean.com writes, “Your itinerary has been finalized.”

And White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel: “F*cking call me next time you decide to do that sh*t again.”

FishbowlDC repeats: The names are real. The messages, phony. FamousDC remarked to an initially alarmed FishbowlDC: “It’s a spoof, but we’re flattered it’s believable.”
