(A Sprinkling of Things We Think You Ought to Know)

The Quest Begins — As Confucious put it, a journey of a thousand miles begins witha  single step. So today we’re unleashing a campaign to get WaPo‘s liberal blogger Ezra Klein to cut the chains of hate and unblock us on Twitter. He ceremoniously blocked FishbowlDC in late December 2010 after claiming he only reads Columbia Journalism Review for this media diet. He sarcastically called me “charming” and declared me a “bad” journalist (no reasons offered, but chances are high that it had something to do with exposing contents from his now defunct clubby Journolist, which shut down in the summer of 2010). The Countdown (not to be confused for anything related to Current TV and resident Boy Band Sugar Daddy Keith Olbermann) begins today. We’ll periodically provide updates and give Klein compelling reasons why he should unblock us. Today’s reason: Slate‘s Dave Weigel bravely did it. So can you. Want to join the crusade to help get us unblocked? Write King Ezzy at @ezraklein and follow us at @fishbowldc. You may also write to fishbowldc@mediabistro.com and give us reasons why Klein should unblock us (or why he shouldn’t). We’ll print the best ones.

We Pimp Kurtz So He Won’t Have To

“According to Daily Beast correspondent Howard Kurtza venerable Washington insider who is supposed to know such things – the greatest fear among certain Republicans in Congress is not that they might stumble during the current game of fiscal chicken and send the nation into default. They are more worried, writes Kurtz, of being ‘targeted for defeat by anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist.’” — Ann Arbor resident Roger Kerson in the recent edition of the Ann Arbor Chronicle.
