(A Sprinkling of Things we Think you Need to Know…)

*Tapper Taps Dartmouth alumni connections: Tonight ABC White House Correspondent Jake Tapper is hosting a dinner/interview with six members of Congress who also graduated from Dartmouth. The restaurant hasn’t officially been disclosed but it’s pricey. Lawmakers expected to attend include Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand ’88, D-NY, John Hoeven ’79, R-ND., Rob Portman ’78, R-Ohio, and Reps. Charlie Bass ’74, R-NH, Michael Capuano ’73, D-Mass., and John Carney ’78, D-Del. When Tapper was a freshman, Gillibrand was a senior. Her name was Kirsten Rutnik.

*Speaking of Restaurant Crashing… Rude it may be. But hungry journos with offices in the Farragut North area may want to crash an Equinox event at 2:30 p.m. today in which samples of exquisite salmon will be passed out. Chef Todd Gray, who is cooking the salmon for the event, is joining a coalition iaimed at saving Bristol Bay and stop Pebble Mine. They plan to approach President Obama on the matter. Other chefs who are in on the event are Nora Pouillon of Restaurant Nora, and Chef Robert Wiedmaier, chef-owner of Brasserie Beck, Marcel’s, Brabo. To try to get in the event through the front door, write Kristin Dizon at KristinD@strategies360.com. Equinox is located at 818 Conn. Ave. NW.

*MSNBC’s Chuck Todd is all tight with Oprah‘s bff Gayle King these days. This morning he was scheduled to go on an Oprah Radio program hosted by — who else? — King at 10 a.m. EST. King tweeted at him about it. He replied, “Looking forward to it!” You go girl! (We mean Gayle, not Todd).
