Funnyman Gibbs Makes the Morning Rounds

Robert_Gibbs(5).jpgFOX & Friends spoke with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs earlier this morning. So did MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” as well as CBS’s “Early Show”.

In addition to discussing the more political notes of this evenings speech, they ended the segment by discussing a bookie who is setting bets on the President’s speech tonight. Gibbs and the FOX & Friends team joked for about a minute about the bets and the Gibbs said, “he could talk to the president,” to help the team out, and that “undoubtedly the department of justice and local authorities are dialing their phones even as we speak.” Gibbs said he had read the speech. He lamented that “let’s get ready to rumble…got cut.”

On a side note: FNC and Obama have been pairing up quite nicely as of late — at least in terms of ratings. The FNC Obama “In His Own Words” special last Saturday night got the highest primetime ratings in the 25-54 demographic – the program averaged 417,000, according to Nielsen ratings. The special beat CNN’s Larry King Live and MSNBC in that 9p.m. hour.
