Gazette Layoffs
A tipster tells us (we’re unsuccessfully attempting a vacation here at FishbowlDC so forgive the delay), “More than 20 employees from different departments let go today at The Gazette papers in Montgomery, Frederick and Prince George’s counties. This is a Washington Post owned group.” And: “Publisher also announced they will switch to a broadsheet form next year.”
All of which makes it sorta odd that in Frank Ahrens’ “The Washington Post lost more money piece” today, he didn’t bother to include these troubles at the Washington Post owned newspapers.
