Gibbs Now Has Plenty of Radios to Choose From

Donned in an ABC News Radio hat, WH Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was presented with another radio by ABC’s Ann Compton, from VP and General Manager of ABC News Radio Steve Jones.

Compton says “what impressed Gibbs the most was Jones’ note reminding the White House that 235 million people listen to radio every week. (Take that, Twitter!)”

Dear Mr. Gibbs,

We heard you say yesterday that you don’t have a radio so we are very pleased to send you one. You can join the 235-million people weekly that listen to the radio, according to the National Association of Broadcasters.

And, 74-million of these listeners each week hear programming created by my team at ABC News Radio, featuring the wonderful Ann Compton!

I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and present some other data about the radio listening habits of Americans so that you can factor our medium in to your broader media outreach.

Warmest regards,

Steve
