Groer Nixes Nat Enquirer Story

Politics Daily‘s gossip hound Annie Groer does her best today to disprove a National Enquirer story suggesting that Chelsea Clinton and new hubby Marc Mezvinsky are headed for splitsville.

Groer speaks to a “family friend” who says the couple really isn’t seeking an annulment and isn’t fighting about when to have kids. She also makes several leaps in judgment explaining why Chelsea is hanging out in Manhattan and Mezvinsky has taken off to Jackson Hole.

The National Enquirer doesn’t always get it wrong when it comes to political types — as we know with their coverage of former Sen. John Edwards and his mistress Rielle Hunter. On this one, though, looks like Groer’s sticking to her guns. At least for now.
