Happy Birthday to Helen Thomas!

We hear President Obama was in the press briefing room just a little while ago to wish Helen Thomas a happy 89th birthday. The President presented the veteran White House reporter with birthday cupcakes- she made a wish, blew out the candles and even scored a kiss from the Commander in Chief (who is also celebrating a bday today, turning 48 years old)!

More from ABC’s Jake Tapper (who was sitting right next to Thomas in the briefing room for the surprise) on his blog: “Thomas wished for world peace, for everyone to be happy, for health care reform and for no more prejudice.”
