Heritage’s Cooper to Cantor’s Office

Rory Cooper, Communications Director at The Heritage Foundation, is leaving to go to work for House Maj. Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.). “It’s an honor to go work for Majority Leader Cantor and join his stellar team promoting the Republican pro-growth agenda to create jobs and prosperity for all Americans,” he told FishbowlDC in a positively patriotic, spokesman-like quote.

Question to ask yourselves: Will Cooper stylistically be a hothead like former adorable Cantor flak and Deputy Chief of Staff Brad Dayspring? Cooper replaces Laena Fallon as Communications Director. She left to be VP for Communications for The Financial Services Forum.

At Heritage, Cooper was also executive editor for The Foundry, Heritage’s blog of public policy news and commentary. Among its features is Morning Bell.

Cooper’s post at Heritage won’t be replaced as much as the department will be reorganized. Rob Bluey will now take charge of the digital media department as well as continuing his role as Director of the Center for Media and Public Policy.

Cooper lives in Hyattsville with his wife, Emily, daughter, Lillian and dog, Harold.
