Hotline Interviews Peter Canellos
Some highlights from their Friday interview with the Boston Globe Deputy Managing Editor and Washington bureau chief:
What’s your most embarrassing on-the-job moment? (Or as embarrassing as you’d like to reveal?)
When I was an intern at the Washington Post I wrote that Patrick Henry’s “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech was delivered in Williamsburg. This prompted furious editorials in Richmond, where the speech was actually delivered.
If you could interview any deceased person, who would it be and why?
George Mason. He’s the most underappreciated Founding Father and probably would be the most candid — and credible — in his assessments of the others.
What would be your last meal — ever?
I’ll probably die after eating a bowl of popcorn.
