From the Dept. of Bragiculture…HuffPost‘s Howard Fineman is a very important person. Didn’t you know? This past weekend he emailed into Politico Mike Allen‘s Playbook to help celebrate his 28th wedding anniversary — because the 28th is really special. Yeah, it’s right up there with silver and paper. He also managed to namedrop and mention how integral his role was in covering the 1984 presidential election. Oh, you didn’t know that either? See our commentary in bold.
HOWARD FINEMAN emails: “Amy and I were married 28 years ago [today] at an art gallery here [I'm an intellectual, this means very smart. Chris Matthews reminds me all the time]. We had met at Bill Keller‘s (then) annual D.C. Halloween Party [name-DROP]. We set our wedding date only after I checked with the PA Secretary of State’s office to make sure that the date of the 1984 Dem primary wouldn’t conflict with our (brief) honeymoon. [Really? Washington translation: I am V.I.P. and lame to put my job above my wedding date, but what else could I do?] Ronald Reagan and I were big winners that year.”
One thing Fineman forgot: Happy anniversary Amy! Now if she could please try to keep it down during the next Washington screening of HBO’s “Game Change” so others in her vicinity can watch the movie in peace.
