Howie Snails on Juan

Puzzling. Howard Kurtz leaves WaPo for the fast-paced world of digital journalism and turns in his ex-NPR canned Juan Williams write-up for The Daily Beast some 14 hrs after it happened.

Noteworthy: Kurtz’s second story on Williams appears this morning on CNN.com, complete with an Editor’s note that has him as host for CNN’s “Reliable Sources” (correct) and as “media reporter for the Washington Post” (so weirdly wrong – he’s at The Daily Beast and is no longer at the Post or this story might have appeared there).

Mediaite‘s Steve Krakauer cracks on Kurtz for his snail’s pace. He writes on Twitter: “Dude you’re 15 hours late RT @HowardKurtz My Beast take on NPR firing Juan Williams. Boy… those Beasties get stories up fast.” And Mediaite‘s Glynnis MacNicol remarks, “Welcome to the Internet?”
