Is The NBC “Evening News” Anchor Chair Next For Gregory?

In this weekend’s PARADE magazine, one reader asks the “Personality Parade”:

NBC White House Correspondent David Gregory seems to be a rising star. How far, in your opinion, is he likely to go?

“Walter Scott” (really Edward Klein) writes back:

Gregory, 36, is the golden boy of NBC News. He’s filled in for Today’s Matt Lauer, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and Don Imus before he was fired. We think the strapping, 6-foot-5 newsman has anchor material written all over him.

Gregory also filled in for Tim Russert on yesterday’s “Meet the Press.”

What do you think?
