Journalism Is A Cash Cow

Now one may still not be able to make Jack Abramoff-level moola in journalism, but Washington reporters seem to be doing fine. The Reliable Source reports today that Thomas Friedman just picked up a cool 52 G’s for winning a British book prize with “The World Is Flat.”

And Washington Whispers reports this week on some of the lecture price tags that reporters charge: Bob Woodward “demands” up to $50,000 a speech; political guru Charlie Cook, $5,000 to $10,000; Newsweek’s Michael Isikoff, $5,000 to $20,000; and NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, $20,001 to $30,000.

Not bad money if you can get it.
