Katie Couric Really Inspires Folks

This whole “hang out with the masses in a public plaza” idea is the hottest trend to hit television news since the advent of hot blondes.

Taking it to the streets, Hardball moved their show to “Hardball Plaza,” right in front of their 400 N. Capitol building. This is the first time the show has done so, save such special outside shows as the Republican/Democratic Conventions, “Democracy Plaza,” etc.

As the above picture indicates, Chris Matthews is clearly trying to suggest that, by golly, he deserved Katie Couric’s job over Meredith Vieira.

We didn’t actually see the show, which makes it all the more fun to guess what Matthews is saying to the children:

  • “Is President Bush the SpongeBob to Cheney’s Square Pants?”

  • “Did you pick up on the fact the the lion in Chronicles of Narnia was a Jesus-like figure?”

  • “Have you ever seen Tweetybird? Do I look like him?”

BONUS: To the first reader to spot–and photograph–Matthews pitting out in DC’s horrid summers, we love you long time.
