Like Palin, Cheney has ‘O’Biden’ Verbal Tic

Joe-Biden-Hands-Up.jpgWe now know that some Republicans can’t help themselves from referring to V.P. Joseph Biden as “O’Biden”.

Is his name really that difficult?

On Sunday, ABC’s “This Week” (with Jonathan Karl, this week) had former V.P. Dick Cheney on the show. When Biden came up, Cheney got himself into an O’Biden tongue twister:

“I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by my friend, Joe Biden,” Cheney said. “…I’m glad he now believes Iraq is a success. Of course, O’Biden and Obama and Biden campaigned from one end of the country to another for two years criticizing our Iraq policy.”

For much of the rest of the show, Cheney referred to Biden as “Joe Biden.”

During V.P. debate prep, Sarah Palin also had trouble with Biden’s name and went so far as to ask him, “Hey, can I call you Joe?” to avoid it.
