Desjardins to Cover Capitol Hill for CNN

Lisa Desjardins posted a note on Twitter today that she’ll be the new Capitol Hill reporter for CNN.

Before joining CNN, Desjardins had worked across the media in print, television and radio — most recently for the Associated Press in D.C. and WIS-TV in South Carolina. Noteable: Desjardins speaks Russian, a language she picked up living in St. Petersburg for nearly two years.

She’ll cover day-to-day Congressional activity and do some enterprise reporting, according to CNN.

Her announcement brought a flood of congratulatory tweets, almost too many to count. Best of luck to Desjardins in her new job.

NOTE: An earlier version of this story said Desjardins was moving to CNNRadio, and it has been updated to reflect that she’s actually going to CNN. Our apologies for the mistake.
