MacGillis Becomes New Political Staff Writer At W. Post

From their announcement:

We’re delighted to announce that Alec MacGillis will be joining the
political staff, bringing his inquiring mind and skill at enterprise
reporting to our coverage of the 2008 campaign.

Alec joined the Fairfax bureau a year ago, professing to know nothing about the suburbs or development. He quickly established himself as a sophisticated and edgy chronicler of Tysons Corner and its future, driving a story of huge importance to our readers. His analytic and reporting skills, not to mention his familiarity with cut-and-cover tunneling techniques, will be welcome additions to our staff. Before arriving here – and before the five years he spent at the Baltimore Sun – Alec acquired some impressive political credentials as well, serving as the lead reporter for the Concord Monitor in its coverage of the Democratic side of the 2000 New Hampshire primary.

Alec will be starting with us next week.
