Magazine Cover Story of the Week: Washingtonian MOM with Rachel Goslins

MOM_2014_Summer_FBIt’s Friday, therefore almost the weekend, and therefore, time to gather up your reading list…everything you saw this week but didn’t have time to actually read.

The latest issue of Washingtonian MOM is hitting newsstands as we speak, and this issue’s cover story explores the personal and professional life of Rachel Goslins, executive director of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.

Goslins career began in law, working at a large law firm in New York and later, at the U.S. Copyright Office in Washington. She ditched her successful career by her early 30s to study film at NYU after meeting and marrying her now husband, former FCC chairman Julius Genachowski.

“In the span of about six months, I went from representing the United States of America on large international delegations to being the coffee and FedEx girl for an office of filmmakers,” Goslins recalls of an internship she held with PBS

Editor of MOM Kate Bennett writes in her latest cover story, ”In 2009, Goslins was appointed executive director of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, where today she orchestrates cultural diplomacy, arts and humanities educational programs, and assists the White House (specifically President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama) with cultural events and workshops.”
