Our friends at WaPo‘s Reliable Source caught up with 17-year-old Colette Jaycox, a leukemia patient whose wish to meet PBS’ Jim Lehrer was granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“She started the day hobnobbing with Lehrer, Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff at the morning editorial meeting; took pointers from the top anchor on reading a prompter and prepping for interviews; got the full TV makeup treatment; and made a tape of reading the news summary from the anchor’s chair.”
